James' 20th

So after a 68 point win in our first game for points of the season I was on a high travelling back from Caboolture heading to my good mate James' 20th gathering. It was set to be a good night with a beach side setting down at Shelley Beach.

Expecting to be late due to the game I downed a few Hahn Super Dry beers in the car thanks to my good mate Ryan. We were dropped straight too James' house and realised we were pretty much the first ones there. Ryan continued to feed me beers as more of the guests arrived. Before we knew it there was around fifteen of us packed onto the balcony trading Jagermeister shots which certainly got a few of us going.

After we sung happy birthday and sat down for a few more liquid pleasures James's mum delivered the bad news that they had a complaint from a neighbouring unit, so the party had to continue elsewhere. It was a given that it would be Mooloolaba most likely The Wharf.

As I had no money, I thought my night was too end here. But thanks to my fellow un-employed, friend, Steve, he offered to pay my cover charge. So off to The Wharf we went, I stuck with Steve and another one of our mates, Damian. We were too meet the rest of them up there.

When we got there it was around 11pm which meant it wasn't going to be that busy...yet. After we waited around five minutes to get in downstairs we went straight to get our stamp for upstairs.

It wasn't long before the three of us and another one of my mates were on the dance floor. Damian goes alright with the ladies so before we knew it, we were pretty much surrounded by them. Which is pretty unusual for myself.

The night went on and we ran into a few more mates some from James' and some that I knew from other places so there was plenty of us scattered around which worked in well with everyone I think.

As I wasn't drinking while I was there I started to sober up which meant I would'nt last on the dancefloor for much longer. When 2.45am came I found myself outside alone trying to figure out a way home. Eventually I stumbled in my door and slumped on my bed about 4am.

All in all it was probably one of the best nights I have had there. Mostly because I did'nt write my self off which was starting to become a habit and I can actually remember the majority of the night. Also the people that I went out with and met out were just there to enjoy the night without any trouble. And I would also like to say well done to the DJ who killed it.

Happy Birthday James!
