Well it was the Friday before my work Christmas party and myself and my boss Barry decided that we would have a few drinks just to wet the appetite for what would be a good day to follow. We had booked a room in Mooloolaba so we went there to drop off our stuff and then met up with some work mates at Habits, a restaurant in Cotton Tree.
After having a few drinks there we decided to head up the The Pig & Whistle where our good mate Angus gained us entry into the Beer Launch of a new beer called the Great Northern Brewing Co (not a bad drop for those of you wondering). After making the most of the free beer there Barry and I ventured down to the Mooloolaba Surf Club.
After trying our luck on the horses and dogs we decided it was time to get amongst the fellow party-goers and go watch the cover band, not long after the 'big boss' for our company showed up and shouted drinks, this was ultimately my downfall because the rest of the story is pretty blurry. I will do my best to tell you what happens next.
Another work mate Sean and I decided that it was time to go to Fridays, I was there for sometime before he arrived and predictably I was kicked out within minutes, on my way out I seen him in the line. I caught back up with Barry who was denied entry because he didnt have any I.D. Apparently once I was out I was causing a bit of a rukkus. Which is a bit out of character.
Sean who had now made his way to the front of the line called Barry and told him to take me home because he heard the security guard say into his radio "call the police, call the police, the big c*&%s out of control" within seconds a police car rocked up. Two police officers forced me into the back of the van after a bit of a struggle.
From there I spent the night in the cell and wasnt allowed out until 8am the next morning charged with Public Nuisance and Obstructing Police. Once I was at the Christmas party word had travelled fast and within hours I had almost everyone mention something to me about it.
P.S I know from the last two stories it may seem that I am a criminal of some sort, but they were 4 years apart and they are the only two times I have spent the night in the Iron Motel.
hilarious... some things never change!
